ADNZ membership no. 16022 LBP Design 2 License no. BP115922
With a lifelong fascination for construction and architecture, my journey began in my father’s office, sketching on his drafting boards after school. Prior to delving into architectural design, I gained practical, hands-on experience as a builder’s laborer. In 2002, I earned my National Diploma in Architectural Technology from Unitec.
Over two decades were spent working with my father at BK Design, interrupted only by a one-year sabbatical in Ireland (2007) and a year of global exploration (2008). In Ireland, I seamlessly combined work with travel, contributing to a small architecture firm. A standout experience involved the conversion of a 400-year-old church into a functional performing arts space.
My design philosophy revolves around engaging clients from the outset, translating their ideas into functional designs, and reveling in the realization of the final product. As an architectural designer, I see my role as offering clients innovative options while respecting their vision. I believe that stepping outside the comfort zone and thinking beyond conventional boundaries can elevate good design to greatness.
The prospect of embarking on new journeys and projects excites me, and I look forward to bringing my passion for thoughtful, client-centered solutions to each endeavor.
